Lavacolla – walked 28km

Well we walked and walked and walked some more… Thought we would never get here! We booked a room at San Poia with the help of the tourist office in Arca. 4 beds, our own bath, thought it would be splendid… Not so much. Far dirtier than our albergue and nothing worked. Door to balcony didn’t open so we had to climb out the window. My 28km legs did that one time and decided that the balcony wasn’t worth the effort.
Shower didn’t work, so had to take a bath. Now you need to realize I do not even take a bath in my own home cause I think it’s gross… So had to scour the tub here and still wasn’t very happy.
This place wasn’t cheap… 70 euros for all of us. Expectations were high. Stew and I arrived around 3:30, long day, started at 6:00am. Got a call around 4:30 from the girls, Alyssa was really sick and had been vomiting for a while. She may have sun stroke since it is so hot out there.
The girls finally made it and we worked on getting Alyssa feeling better. Was good we had our own bathroom! Aquarius is a gator aid like drink that seems to help, so we just kept pouring that down her throat. After a few hours she felt well enough to go over to the bar for a late dinner.
Hoping she will be well enough tomorrow to walk into Santiago!
Buen Camino!
